Environmental Management is a key priority at Pacific Office Systems and both our manufacturer suppliers, Kyocera and Ricoh, are recipients of numerous environmental awards and instigators of innovative waste reduction measures for the office.

Ricoh Australia launched Australia's first Toner Cartridge Takeback Program in August 2001, aimed at recycling cartridges from fax machines, printers, photocopiers and multi-functional devices. Our program recycles these used consumables reclaiming the plastic to make durable objects such as park benches, rulers and waste paper bins. For more information about the program click here.

Ricoh's short-term goal is to have zero Trade Waste to landfill by 2005 (as defined in their Sustainability Report 2003).

Kyocera's ECOSYS Technology provides customers with a printing solution that incorporates long-life consumables and the lowest comparable cost per print resulting in economical efficiency and a better environment. Kyocera introduced the cartridge-free ECOSYS printer concept in 1992 as a means of reducing the user's Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while improving the printer's environmental impact. The ECOSYS printer technology represents a fundamental improvement over conventional laser printers.

The FS-3800 Series achieved the industry's best cost per page performance utilizing long-life technology. Over its life, one Kyocera ECOSYS printer can save a company thousands of dollars in printing costs.
